WORKSHOP DE GEOPRIVACIDAD

En los "geo-tiempos" que corren  la privacidad ha quedado en entredicho. Estamos invadidos de aplicaciones y dispositivos geo-comunicados a través de las redes, en el que "la internet de las cosas" se ha convertido en una borágine tecnológíca.

Este workshop, que se celebrá en Texas en noviembre, tratará sobre los avances en las tecnologías móviles de captura de datos en la última década que han permitido a la colección de información geográfica a escala sin precedentes. Mientras que se recolectan una gran cantidad de información extremadamente valiosa para responder a preguntas científicas sobre el comportamiento humano, la intrusión en la privacidad se ha convertido en un riesgo inminente cuando se utilizan datos individuales para fines comerciales, tales como perfiles de clientes, o incluso para la persecución política. El taller se centrará en debatir métodos para proteger la privacidad del individuo en la recolección de la información geográfica y su análisis.

Workshop scope

Developments in mobile and surveying technologies over the past decade have enabled the collection of Individual­level geographic information at unprecedented scale. While this large pool of information is extremely valuable to answer scientific questions about human behavior and interaction, privacy intrusion is an imminent risk when detailed individual travel patterns are used for commercial purposes such as customer profiling, or even for political persecution. The GeoPrivacy workshop will hence focus on discussing methods to protect individual’s privacy in geographic information collection and analysis.
